Justice, Dignity and Solidarity

Circuit JDS Group (Including EDI)

The Circuit is setting up a small group to support the implementation of the Justice, Dignity and Solidarity Strategy which includes EDI.  We are seeking to recruit those who feel called to this sacred piece of work to this small group.   The role of the group would be to:

1.     Support the circuit in the implementation of the Strategy for Justice, Dignity and Solidarity, including keeping in touch with the District EDI group and EDI Officers’ network for connexional information and guidance as appropriate

2.     Assist the development of strategy and policymaking, and decision-making within their sphere of church life, particularly by listening to the people worst effected by any bad practice.

3.     Encouraging, sharing, and developing good practice and local innovation.

4.     Agree who will ‘sign off’ any assessment that has been carried out in relation to various pieces of work.

5.     Be aware of, and familiar with, the processes, tools, and resources for use in this strategy and to share knowledge of them around the circuits.

6.     Help the circuit to ensure that the mandatory EDI training is carried out by those in the appropriate roles, and to encourage a spirit of life-long learning about the diversity of human experience.

If you are interested in working alongside others in co creating a church environment that honours the image of God in each person and enables all to participate fully in the life of the Church, please contact Revd Charity Nzegwu on Charity.Nzegwu@methodist.org.uk
